City Landscape Sweden.
Västerås ( means Western river mouth ). Västerås is a medieval Swedish city and situated by the lake Mälaren in Mid-Sweden some 100 km west of Stockholm. Around 140 000 inhabitants.
During the Middle Ages Västerås became one of Swedens´s most important cities! While the cathedral was the centre for the spiritual life, the financial core was trade dominated by iron products shipped from the Bergslagen mining district.
